How can we mesure  information in messages? How do we formulate our thinking in order to transfer it to others, to store it and send as messages? Information theory is a mathematical discipline dealing with these questions. It is closely connected with coding which allows us to formulate, store and send messages carrying information.   In this lecture basics of information and coding theory will be presented.
